Mitchell says if Murray ignored his unbeaten Mancunian as punishment

Kevin Mitchell has told John Murray (Murray 4/9, Mitchell 13/8) lightweight showdown with him not to leave ahead as both boxers look for a win to set up a world title fight with Brandon Rios.

Wimbledon Championship

British pair step into the ring on Saturday night just as long to resolve the debate who is the nation's best lightweight, but to also lay claim to the WBO Intercontinental title.

Echo competition winners in a WBA lightweight king himself can fight against Rios with promoter Frank Warren admitting he has opened talks over a fight for the winner of Murray v Mitchell.

Rios defends his title Saturday night, he was effective when he stopped Urbano Antillon in the third round and both men say they have the greatest respect for him.

However, Mitchell says if Murray ignored his unbeaten Mancunian as punishment, he promised that the mistake is a knockout.

Londoner said, "Murray can talk up a fight between himself and Rios all he likes, but he's got to get past me first".

"I'm going to knock him out on Saturday, so he can kiss goodbye to his dream of becoming a world champion.

"Rios looks like an all-action fighter, so a fight between me and him would be an absolute classic".
